RAF Wick

Below is a scan of a plan from 1983 showing the buildings and layout of the airport, the majority of which from the war period.
It was around this time that the area South and East of the hangars was started to be developed into the Wick Industrial Estate.

Only two hangars now remain, the rightmost one on the plan above was torn down (prior to 1970) and this area is now the airport car park.
The RAF married quarters and airport houses have long since been demolished, for many years the area left as open ground.
However it is now home to Nucleus, the Nuclear and Caithness Archive.
